Dean takes responsibility
I thought Dean did a great job on Meet the Press yesterday — much more relaxed than he was in June, much more in command of the issues (and willing to tell Russert when he was off-base). I still see a Dean nomination as a long-shot at this point (side note to “Mike at TopDog04″:http://www.topdog04.com/000513.html [...]
Irrational exuberance
If you’re looking for some good coverage of Trippi’s resignation, the campaign’s focus (or lack thereof) and what this means moving forward, be sure to read Noam Scheiber’s _mea culpa_ “at TNR”:http://www.tnr.com/etc.mhtml?pid=1265 last night.
Bottom line: the clock is ticking. Roy Neel has his work cut out for him.
Yeaaaaahhh…
If I were “Joe Trippi”:http://www.tnr.com/doc.mhtml?pt=uPrIwAEG7fHpGFSjMCq7tR%3D%3D, I would have spent last night on the flight back to NH forcing Howard Dean to watch Dean’s “concession” speech in Iowa. Again. And again. And again.
Try listening to “this audio clip”:http://www.drudgereport.com/dean.mp3 more than once. Go ahead, I dare you.
On Dean, organization and the Internet
Organization Man - Why the Dean campaign isn’t worried about Zogby. By Chris Suellentrop
bq. _If Dean wins Monday, Connolly and the campaign will have proved that the Internet’s effect on politics isn’t just about fund-raising or Meetup or blogging. The Internet can win the ground war._
This is a great piece by Chris Suellentrop at Slate [...]
Welcome back to Dean2004 RSS readers
(Warning: if you don’t know what RSS(Really Simple Syndication) is or you read this site in a browser as opposed to something like a newsreader, ignore this post. Go away. None of this will make any sense. Nothing to see here, please move along.)
This is mostly for those of you who may be reading this [...]
The Media is saving us from Dean?
This is ludicrous. Peggy Noonan in today’s WSJ claims that the press (who, she admits, have become “an anti-Dean mover”) is “saving us from ourselves”:http://opinionjournal.com/columnists/pnoonan/?id=11000455 out of a sense of duty to the Democratic Party:
bq. [Dean] seems as unlovable (unless you’re a Deaniac) as he is improbable. But I suspect there’s something else at work. [...]
Oh. That explains it.
No sooner did I finish “watching”:http://www.rklau.com/tins/archives/2004/01/14/know_when_to_vote.php Moseley Braun on The Daily Show that I see this item from “MSNBC”:http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3962175/ — “Braun to withdraw, endorse Howard Dean.”
Dean on cover of Rolling Stone
!http://www.rklau.com/tins/images/rolling_stone.jpg!
A synopsis of the interview is at “CNN.com”:http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/01/13/elec04.prez.rolling.stone.reut/index.html.
(And no, “Jonas”:http://blog.netwarriors.org/ — Dean did not say “f***”:http://www.rollingstone.com/features/nationalaffairs/featuregen.asp?pid=2454 during his interview.)
It’s official - I’m a Dean delegate
Assuming Dean gets the Illinois nomination, I’ll “be a delegate”:http://www.elections.state.il.us/elecinfo/pages/CandDetails.asp?Candidate=8086&Election=15 to the Democratic Convention in July.
I’m excited.
House party a success!
Last night was a thrill. We ended up with over 50 people at our house, a new record for us. Combined with another house party in DuPage County, we had over 75 people attending fundraisers for Howard Dean. And this is a county that most equate with Orange County, California.
More importantly, we raised nearly $3,000 [...]
